Artikel der Marke Charlies Chalk Dust

As a young boy, Charlie would walk door to door selling homegrown zucchinis to the neighborhood housewives. With his proper charm he had no problems charging these women five times the going rate of the local grocers. During the winter months, he would find oddly shaped rocks in his front yard painted them with colorful designs. The same housewives who bought his zucchinis… well… they bought his rocks too.

The solicitor has a single goal, to help the customer make a buying decision. If he is a good solicitor, as Charlie was, he would satisfy his customer allowing the solicitor and customers relationship to blossom. Charlie never measured his success by how many sales he made, but how many customers he satisfied. The only way to try and measure that is whether or not the customer opened that door with welcoming eyes.

Back in Charlie’s youth, solicitors were very common and were usually greeted with curiosity or intrigue. Even Charlies father was a prominent solicitor in the local community traveling door to door to sell this revolutionary new commodity called electricity. The fascinated boy used to watch as his dad made a deal and as another customer was satisfied, Charlie’s father would wait until dusk, turn on the lights powered by electric and ring an enormous bell that sat in their family room. Charlie had goosebumps every time he heard the massive bell ring.

Charlie adored his father and wanted to be just like him. By the time Charlie was older his dad had made a fortune, who knew electricity would be so popular. His father, modest as he was, decided he could now follow his dream and start a restaurant that would be a hangout for the community to enjoy some small bites, desert and artisan soda. The old man named the restaurant Charlie’s and that huge bell was retired.

Although it seemed a solicitor was retired with that bell, Charlie and other plans. He wanted to ring that bell and satisfy his own customers. After selling those cute little painted rocks, Charlie transitioned to the towns paperboy. The kid was no one hit wonder though, every day before the town was awake Charlie would sit in the family room rolling the days newspaper and loaded them neatly in his entourage of satchels. One on each arm, two on his back and another in his lap, Charlie would deliver every paper flawlessly to his customers. Perfectly placed newspaper delivered directly to your door on time.

The town soon realized that Charlie could do it all and there would no longer need to be territories, he became the one and only paperboy. Every day he came home after his route his dad would have fresh made deserts of all different flavors. His father placed a chalkboard in front of that bell where he would write his delightful recipes. There wasn’t a day that went by where Charlie didn’t glance at the bell stuck behind the chalkboard, it taunted him. He could not get the loud ring out of his head, he couldn’t concentrate at school or otherwise, he was completely enchanted. The ring of the bell would not shut up! His head was spinning and after another day, the third day in August, Charlie had enough. He left school early and went home to give the bell life again.

Charlie stared at he bell now covered in years of chalk dust, eating some delicious and flavorful pastry his dad had waiting for him… it was there, that moment. Charlie picked up the large bell and started ringing it as loud as he possibly could. It was clear to him now, he had a true spiritual experience…
